Natural cultivation/Diva natural farming method
Homemade fertilizer
Tahara area, Nara Prefecture
<From the farmer>
On the eastern side of Kasugayama, in the green village of Tahara, lies the Yamato Tea Fields, where natural farming methods are practiced.
"Because it's tea I drink every day, I want to make it myself," said Mr. Ikeda, who opened Tahara Natural Farm in the village of Tahara, where the Yamato tea fields spread out.
The tea fields at Tahara Natural Farm are grown using natural farming methods, without the use of any pesticides or chemical fertilizers, in an environment as close to nature as possible. There are no black nets or fans, which are commonly seen in tea fields, and the soil is fluffy. Deer droppings, holes dug by wild boars, and egg shells used as fertilizer are spread out at your feet.
Just like people, it is not good for tea or vegetables to be overprotected. They need the strength to survive on their own to take root and blossom.
We currently rent three tea fields and two alleys, and although we are still a small group, we are recruiting supportive members and working together with them on everything from producing to selling the tea grown in these fields, called "Yui" (tied).

The Tahara district, where the tea fields are located, is located at an altitude of 400-500m on the Yamato Plateau in the eastern part of Nara city, about 12km from the center of Nara.
The Tahara area has been producing tea since the Nara period.
Nearby is the grave of Otomo no Yasumaro, who compiled the Kojiki.
We grow tea leaves without the use of any pesticides or chemical fertilizers, and we manufacture and sell tea.
"Yui" and "Yutaka" teas have unique flavors that change with the seasons. Please enjoy the unique flavors of each.
