TE=CHA is,

We work with the desire to have as many people as possible experience and enjoy the deliciousness and benefits of organic tea.

In 2012, we started out under the name TE AND CHA as a store selling pesticide-free, chemically fertilized tea from Nara Prefecture.

Over the past 10 years, I have come across fascinating organic teas from all over Japan, as well as tools for enjoying delicious tea.

In 2022, we will reopen as TE=CHA, a store selling pesticide-free tea from all over Japan, including Nara Prefecture.

Throughout history, tea has had a deep connection with humans as a medicine and a luxury item.

Japan's traditional diet is world-renowned for its healthfulness, and the drink that forms the cornerstone of this diet is undoubtedly tea.
Tea is delicious and healthy.

On the other hand, in conventional tea cultivation around the world, pesticides and chemical fertilizers are used to improve yields and flavor.

All the tea we sell is grown without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilizers.

However, as the taste of tea varies from person to person, we hope you will find your favorite tea and enjoy drinking it.

It is our sincere hope that through tea we can support the physical and mental health of all our beloved ones.

The philosophy behind TE=CHA (aka.TE AND CHA) The origin of the name

Words meaning tea around the world can be divided into two categories: "TE" and "CHA."

Its origins come from regional variations in the pronunciation of the kanji character "cha" (tea).

The "Te" from Fujian Province was transported by sea to Europe and became "Te", "Tee", etc.

The "cha" from Guangdong Province spread westward via land routes (the Silk Road) and became established as "cha," "chai," etc.

Also, from a single tea plant (Camellia sinensis), black tea, green tea, and oolong tea can be produced.

Depending on how you prepare it, the same tea plant can be used to make a variety of different teas.

Although it has many different names and methods of preparation, it is essentially the same tea.

Even though we have different skin colors, cultures, and ways of thinking, we are all the same human beings.

"Te and Cha" is a message that conveys the wish that "Let's all get along and enjoy our differences."
