SOL. Tea Seed Skin Care Oil

Have you ever seen a tea plant bloom and bear fruit? Tea plants belong to the Camellia family and produce cute white camellia-like flowers.

However, in typical tea fields, the important agricultural product is the leaves that become tea. When cultivating tea, allowing the flowers to bloom is considered undesirable as it shows a lack of care for the tea field. For this reason, we rarely see flowers or fruits.

In Gifu Prefecture, where SOL. is based , and in Nara Prefecture and southern Kyoto, where TE=CHA is based, there are many tea plantations that have been abandoned due to aging and a lack of successors, and there are many fields where flowers bloom and large amounts of "tea fruits" grow.

SOL. skin care oil was born by focusing on such tea plantations and utilizing the tea fruits while tending these fallow tea fields. The oil, which exudes the powerful scent of the earth and is rich in nature, was extracted from these fields because they had been left abandoned. The human touch makes use of the local natural resources in a sustainable way, creating a virtuous cycle, making this a sustainable oil.

[Initiatives toward SDGs]
Taneno Shizuku Laboratory is working to achieve Goal 8 "Decent Work and Economic Growth" and Goal 12 "Responsible Consumption and Production" of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We harvest tea seeds from abandoned tea fields and, with the cooperation of users of employment support facilities, we prepare them into oil raw materials and upcycle the fruit skins, seed coats, and oil cake. We also manufacture tea seed oil balm together with people with hearing impairments.
